Finding a job in these hard economic times can be stressful. Jewish Family Service offers free assistance and employment workshops to help displaced professionals seeking jobs.

Here are some of our services:

• Networking workshops
• Career receptions with recruiters and hiring managers
• One on one meetings to facilitate networking
• Resume rewriting
• Referrals for mental health counseling
• Local employment postings on networking groups

Elyse Spector Kalmans, MBA

Elyse Spector Kalmans works part-time as the JFS Employment Services Coordinator, assisting our community’s unemployed clients to network and prepare for job searches. She received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brown University and a master’s degree in marketing and finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Prior to joining the JFS staff, she managed a public relations and marketing firm. She has also held management positions at companies including Chase, Pillsbury, Coca-Cola, and Enron. Kalmans serves on the boards of directors of Congregation Emanu El, Jewish Federation of Greater Houston and the Anti-Defamation League.

The JFS Employment Program was started and is funded with a grant through the Economic Assistance Fund of the Jewish Federation of Greater Houston.
